Upward Basketball is a non-competitive character building program. Upward is geared toward helping kids grow and interact in both the game of Basketball and with one another. There is a spiritual emphasis placed on the young athletes with scripture memorization and other various bible-related activities. Every week each team has one practice where they learn various skills and get plenty of beneficial exercise. During these practices the young athletes also get a chance to interact with other children in their community and make new friends. There is a game at the end of each week where they will have the opportunity to challenge one of the other teams. These games are focused on having fun and learning friendly competition and teamwork. Emphasis is placed on the overall experience, and not on winning. At the end of each game all participants congratulate the opposite team. At the end of each season, there is an awards night where students each receive an award for their participation in Upward. Overall this is a great opportunity for students to get out and meet new people and have fun in a safe christian environment. If you would like to know more or see for yourself what Upward is like,
